Tucson, Arizona based Producer/Director Wade Stai (Pronounced "Stay") is a life-long self-proclaimed "Horror Nerd" with nearly 20 years professional experience in the television and film industries earning over 40 industry awards including 5 Emmy® awards.

Wade created SHADOWORKS® in October of 1991 while still in high school. After graduation he attended college in Tucson Arizona, studying filmmaking when student films were still "films", shot Super 8 and 16mm negatives. Later he moved to Los Angeles and worked as a freelance videographer, photographer, editor and story analyst until looming industry strikes and a car accident on Sunset Blvd. ended his time in Hollywood. He headed back to Tucson and took a job as the Marketing Producer for what would become the dominant station in Tucson, KOLD News 13.

In 2007 he wrote, shot and directed the horror short PUMPKIN which went on to win several awards at the Almost Famous Film Festival (A3F) including Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Top 20 Finalist and Third Place Best Overall Drama. Immediately following PUMPKIN, Wade began work writing, shooting and directing the 20 minute horror short film SURVIVE.

SURVIVE was shot on a shoestring budget of less than $1,000 in 5 days. The film would go on to screen for two capacity audiences on the opening night of the International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival as part of the Deadly Event. It would later become an official selection of the Phoenix ComiCon International Film Festival.

During the 2-year period that followed the screenings of SURVIVE, Wade wrote, produced, directed, photographed and edited the award winning documentaries DESERT WINGS and SECRETS UNDER THE DESERT for the Tucson, Arizona CBS affiliate. SECRETS UNDER THE DESERT went on to receive overwhelming critical response, earning 2 Emmy® nominations and winning a national Silver Telly® Award as well as local, regional and national silver Addy® Awards from the American Advertising Federation.

In his spare time one weekend in 2010 he produced a 60 second web video as part of a corporate competition for nutritional retail giant GNC (General Nutrition Center) as part of a national contest... He won first place.

In 2011 Wade went into production on the independently produced horror feature ANIMUS. As Director of Photography, Second Unit Director, Camera Operator and the uncredited original Director. Wade guided the project into the early stages of post production when he was forced to step away from the project following a series of personal setbacks, passing the torch to friend and Executive Producer Quin Davis (Davis FX) to complete the project. The film was distributed on DVD in 2013 by Midnight Releasing.

"It is amazing how many filmmakers start in horror with their first feature film. Both directors Quin Davis and Wade Stai are getting their feet wet in this slasher, titled Animus. Thankfully, their first attempt at horror is an exciting time... Directors Quin Davis and Wade Stai take great care with their visual style, while the gore onscreen is fairly consistent throughout the final act. Animus is a stylish indie slasher that will leave many with nightmares!" - 28 Days Later Analysis

"Quin Davis and Wade Stai give their beast plenty of gruesome work to do and the special effects in these scenes are very impressive...There is plenty of talent at work behind the scenes. With a larger budget at their disposal, these two film-makers should be able to acquire the means to display their skills more effectively and I hope they get the opportunity to do just that." - HorrorNews.net

Never one to sit still, during his down time Wade developed and launched the fast-growing GRINDHOUSE® Skateboards brand. Single handedly creating and producing a successful line of pro-quality skateboards, snowboards, accessories and apparel that continues to grow. GRINDHOUSE® recently partnered with producers of the highly anticipated extreme horror anthology THE PROFANE EXHIBIT to create an exclusive skateboard and snowboard deck series for the film.

With roots firmly planted and GRINDHOUSE® growing from a local company into a national brand, Wade focused once again on his life-long love of Horror entertainment and began work on the next series of projects at SHADOWORKS®. He is currently developing and scripting a wide spectrum of original genre projects including feature films, an original web series and the long in-development adaptation of a classic tale of horror from H.P. Lovecraft.

Not content to stop there, already an accomplished photographer, illustrator and graphic artist, in 2012 Wade expanded the SHADOWORKS® brand to include SHADOWORKS COMICS™ and began work illustrating their flagship limited horror series GRAVEYARD SHIFT™ based on his feature film screenplay of the same title.
